Minutes of Meeting—April 2nd 2006 Call to Order President Antonio Rosales called the meeting to order at 6:40 p.m. at Round Table Pizza on Marlow Road. Teams Present Present: Black Oaks, Forestville Kixx, Forestville United, Habaneros, Just For Fun, Maximum Force, NorCal F.C., Outsiders, Shockers, Sonoma United Approval of Minutes The March minutes were reviewed and approved. Reports of Officers and Committees Antonio Rosales, President: The May 6th Tournament will be held at Galvin fields. So far he has 5 teams signed up. Needs at least 6 and up to 12 teams. Some other teams from other counties have expressed interest in playing. A soccer equipment vendor requested permission to set up a booth at the tourney. All agreed this was acceptable. Tourney will have same rules as our league. Went to most Lucchessi games in the first two weekends. Noticed that there was a problem with the uniforms. Too much variety in color and style. Afraid that this leaves other leagues with a bad impression of our league. Asked managers to get their teams to wear appropriate uniforms. Talked to refs. Basically everything going OK. Asked to remind managers that games need to start on time and players should be in correct uniforms. Need 7 players to start game. Can wait up to 15 minutes for players to arrive, but that time is deducted off of total game time. Managers asked to remind players to get there early. Pointed out that a number of rules in the current league Rules and Regulations document are out-of-date. Rolf Stevens (Parliamentarian) suggested that a separate rules committee review the current rules and regs and make recommendations to the board for changes. Brian Aicega, Vice President: Nothing to report. Sue Zaharoff, Treasurer: Current balance is around $7900. Bills left to pay this season: refs, final month of SBC (cancel after rains, maybe end of April, maybe later), Sunrise. Asked about maybe getting a refund from the city for not having used Galvin for two rained-out weekends we paid for. Dave Wilson, Registrar: Everything OK. All teams set. Brian Peddinghaus, Ref Coordinator: Absent, but talked to President and shared requests of refs (start on time, uniforms). Luis Medina, Webmaster: Site had 15,000 hits last month! Luis Medina, Game Scheduler: Needs to reschedule games for June 24th at Galvin because youth teams have the fields that weekend. Solution: will schedule two more games at Sunrise and two at Forestville, with this time schedule: 9:00, 11:00, 1:00, 3:00. Should we schedule Kick Around? Table until next meeting. Given all the rainouts, might run out of weekends. Luis will call Lucchessi to see if they have any available field time to rent in the next few weeks. Teams would need to pay the fee. That breaks out to about $5/player. All felt that was reasonable. Old Business Nothing. New Business Someone suggested that we look into renting Lucchessi’s all-weather field next year for first 4 weekends of season given how rainy March/early April tends to be. General consensus was that teams would be willing to pay a little extra for this. Debbie Wilson talked to the guy who runs the women’s league at Wilson Ranch up in Windsor. He would be interested in setting up a coed league if enough teams joined (4-6). Teams might want to consider organizing for a Fall league. Maybe $450-$500/ team. The fields are a bit smaller and have lights. Games might be played Wednesday nights, two games per night. Could start in July or in the Fall. Interested teams should talk to Debbie (Outsiders). Meeting Adjourned at 7:22 p.m. Next scheduled meeting: Sunday May 7th at the Round Table Pizza on Marlow (at Guerneville Road, in the Safeway shopping center) at 6:30 p.m. Submitted by Sarah Martin 15 April 2006
