Minutes of Meeting—July 13th 2008 Call to Order Vice-president Joe Verdu called the meeting to order at 5:45 p.m. at Round Table Pizza on Marlow Road. Teams Present Present: Forestville United, Black Oaks, NorCal, Shockers, Sonoma United, Underdogs, Renegades Approval of Minutes The June minutes were reviewed and approved. Reports of Officers and Committees Antonio Rosales, President: <Came in after meeting started> Things to consider next season: Teams often did not fill in numbers on game cards. Need numbers to determine who got yellow or red cards. 13 yellow cards could not be matched to any player because no numbers on game card. Managers reminded to fill in jersey numbers. They will be responsible for the yellow card if their game cards do not identify jersey numbers. Refs need to be reminded to check game cards for jersey numbers. Three people who have rec’d three yellows cards (that equal one red card) haven’t paid yet. If they want to pay next season, they’ll have to pay up. Season: Only three straight red cards, five cumulative. Not bad Joe Verdu, Vice-president: Nothing to report. “Looks like we are having meat pizza, so that’s OK.” Luis Medina, Scheduler & Webmaster: Still missing some scores from last couple of weeks. Managers please send Luis or Antonio your scores. Brian Aicega, Treasurer: Have $7500 right now, but still need to pay second half of season for refs, Trione, Forestville donation. Insurance paid off until March of next year. Brian suggests new carrier. Who do the women use? Rogers and Young in Windsor might be worth looking into. Will not be doing this again next year, so will need someone else. Dave Wilson, Registrar: Absent. Old Business None New Business Antonio has info on red cards/yellow cards. Brian said he thought the communication was too complicated. Controversy over two yellow cards that turned into red, player sat out. Then got another yellow and had to sit out another game. Luis et al feel that the clock should have been reset after he sat out for two yellows. All agreed. To discuss clarification of the three yellow rule next year. Kick Around a success. Luis suggested maybe doing it earlier in year to get more teams. Even first week in June. Almost all games played. No problems with players. Refs, some complaining about being paid, but they hadn’t turned in their game cards. They send them in bunch. Paid refs twice this year. Maybe next year pay refs at the end of each month. Brian said it would help to have an info sheet on each ref with address and phone number because sometimes he didn’t know how to get in touch with one. A sheet for each ref. Luis has the list of refs, can add the info to that. Antonio talked to women’s league about marking Forestville field. They said the team assigned to mark it dropped the ball this year. Galvin 2 too narrow. Need to come up with more standard measurements next year. Meeting Adjourned at 6:35 p.m. This was the last meeting of the season. Next scheduled meeting: Sunday January 4th at the Round Table Pizza on Marlow (at Guerneville Road, in the Safeway shopping center) at 5:30 p.m. Submitted by Sarah Martin 30 October 2008 |
