Approval of Minutes

The February minutes were reviewed and approved.

Reports of Officers and Committees

Antonio Rosales, President: Still hasn’t heard back from SSU about using the fields for the May 6th Tournament. Should hear this week. Working with Pete’s Sake field to see if we might be able to use their field. Meeting this Weds. Has already rec’d response about tourney from 6 teams outside our league. Managers should let Antonio know if their team is interested in playing. Debbie Wilson said that we might be able to get a discount for the Windsor fields for the tourney. She is to give Antonio the name of someone to call about that. Those fields have lights.

Brian Aicega, Vice President: Has rec’d the two field lining machines and 10 cases of paint. Brian’s team, Maximum Force, has volunteered to take care of one machine and mark Galvin 1 all year. NorCal F.C. (Mario Lopez) volunteered his team to mark Galvin 2. The two managers will coordinate use of the machine and paint. Forestville Kixx will keep the other machine and mark the Forestville field.

Sue Zaharoff, Treasurer: Has checks from all 15 teams now. Has paid for field lining machines, paint, insurance, use of Lucchessi ($1100) and Wiseman ($80). Will still need to pay refs.

Dave Wilson, Registrar:  Has most stuff from most teams. Read off a few missing pieces from different teams. Dave has placed yellow stickers on each player card to show the cards are for 2006. Explained that it would be difficult for anyone to remove them. Should work for this year. Still has a box for Reg materials on his front porch.

Brian Peddinghaus, Ref Coordinator: Could still use help in getting more refs. Has 5 or 6 now. Recommends that we pay refs twice—mid-year and end of year—like we did last year. Also, would like to be able to be reimbursed for out-of-pocket payment of substitute refs when scheduled ones don’t show up. All agreed Brian or any other manager in that situation should just submit an invoice to Treasurer for reimbursement. Asked if refs need to be over 18. It was agreed by all that they do not, as long as they ref the lower division games.

Field Coordinators:

Brian Peddinghaus, Lucchessi and Wiseman: Reserved Lucchessi (1 field) and Wiseman (2 fields) for first two weekends of season (March 18th and 25th). Lucchessi reserved from 10-4 one weekend and 10-6 the other weekend. Now that we have a 15th team, will need to reserve Wiseman for first two weekends of April. Brian to do.

Dave Wilson, Galvin: City of SR will not take reservations until March 1st. Dave to contact them ASAP. Will reserve Saturdays 9-3 starting April 1st.

Sue Zaharoff, Forestville: Field will be ready to play on April 22d

Luis Medina, Webmaster: Encouraged other teams to send in pictures he can post on site.

Luis Medina, Game Scheduler: Is working on schedule. Will post on-line this week. Explained that he set up schedule so that teams only play each other twice at the most. Pointed out that this may mean that teams play teams outside their division (within a range). Seemed OK to all. Games are at 9:00, 11:00, and 1:00.

Old Business

Discussion of whether or not to keep league hotline now that we have the website. SBC charges $275/yr with no prorating. Decided to keep through April then cancel. Next year, we may buy a cell phone and some minutes and just activate it during the season. Rolf Stevens volunteered to handle that. Motion approved unanimously.

New Business

Two new teams have joined. NorCal F.C. and Yellow Jackets. NorCal will play in the C division. Yellow Jackets will play in the open (A) division because they have a lot of men under 30. The following teams agreed to play the Yellow Jackets: Bushwhackers, Salsa, Just For Fun, Outsiders, Shockers, Empire F.C..

Meeting Adjourned at 7:25 p.m

Next scheduled meeting: Sunday April 2d  at the Round Table Pizza on Marlow (at Guerneville Road, in the Safeway shopping center) at 6:30 p.m.
