Minutes of Meeting—May 7th 2006 Call to Order President Antonio Rosales called the meeting to order at 6:37 p.m. at Round Table Pizza on Marlow Road. Teams Present Present: Black Oaks, Bushwhackers, Forestville United, Habaneros, NorCal F.C., Shockers, Sonoma United Approval of Minutes The April minutes were reviewed and approved. Reports of Officers and Committees Antonio Rosales, President: Things are going well, other than the problems we’ve been having trying to secure fields. (We thought we had Piner all-weather field reserved for last weekend but the paperwork was not OKed. Antonio to talk to office folks who will explain what exactly to do to make sure we have secured the field for use.) Many teams have expressed an interest in reserving Lucchessi all-weather field for the first 4 weeks of the season next year. May 6th Tourney went well. Seven teams participated from our league. Thanks out to Rolf Stevens for fixing the goal post at Galvin. Hasn’t heard too many complaints this year except about swearing on the field. Refs are encouraged to issue yellow cards for any indecent language used on the field. Reminded managers to call other managers to schedule make-up games. And call ref coordinator to line up a ref. Brian Aicega, Vice President: Absent, nothing to report. Sue Zaharoff, Treasurer: Absent. (Through e-mails, the following figures were obtained.) Balance at beginning of April around $7900. Money paid out in April: Roundtable pizza $48.00, SBC phone $21.00. Balance at end of April is $7831.00. Dave Wilson, Registrar: Absent. Requested (thru messenger) that managers call him if they need a new player card for Saturday and it is Weds or later in the week. Don’t just drop off paperwork at his house. (It’s too late for him to make the card and mail it out after Tues.) Brian Peddinghaus, Ref Coordinator: Absent, nothing to report. Luis Medina, Webmaster: Managers, please tell Luis if you have picked up a player from the website so that he can remove them from the “looking for a team” list. Luis Medina, Game Scheduler: Since FES field is not available May 13th, Kixx and Outer Limits will need to play somewhere else. Joe Verdu pointed out that Galvin 1 or 2 is available at 1:00 on Saturday the 13th. Luis rescheduled games for June 24th at Galvin (youth teams have the fields that weekend). See website for new places/times. Rolf Stevens, Parliamentarian: Reminded us that because of our non-profit status, we are required to include bank balances and money paid out each month in the minutes. Old Business Nothing. New Business It was suggested that next year we go ahead and reserve fields for use on Weds and Thurs nights as well as Saturdays so that we can play make-up games. Two more possible fields to check into: Willowside and Kenwood. Rolf Stevens to check into Willowside, Joe Verdu to check into Kenwood. Rolf also suggested that we approach other leagues during the off-season and see if we might collectively pay for two new sets of goals for Galvin. The ones there are owned by the youth leagues and they won’t last much longer. Rolf had looked into the pricing and if we were able to split the costs with the other leagues, it would cost us $1500-$1800 for two sets of goals. Meeting Adjourned at 6:55 p.m. Next scheduled meeting: Sunday June 4th at the Round Table Pizza on Marlow (at Guerneville Road, in the Safeway shopping center) at 6:30 p.m. Submitted by Sarah Martin 11 May 2006
