Referee Coordinator: Hector Roman nominated. Elected 11-0. Registrar: Dave Wilson was absent. If Dave does not want to do it this year, Antonio’s wife has volunteered to do it. Disciplinary Committee: Joe Verdu, Bradley Mitchell, and Hector Roman nominated. Elected 11-0. Old Business When does the season start? It was decided that March 24th would be the starting date. The new treasurer, Brain Aicega, prepared three budget scenarios for the year: Budget A—12 weekends, 2 of which involved games at Lucchessi Budget B—11 weekends, 2 of which involved games at Lucchessi Budget C—12 weekends, 4 of which involved games at Lucchessi Budget A received 8 votes. Budget B received 0 votes. Budget C received 2 votes. So, Budget A was approved. A team registration fee of $800 was voted in 11-0. This amount will allow us to carry a safety cushion balance of about $2,256 into the 2008 season. Two weekends of games at Lucchessi means that each team will get to play there once. (Only half the teams can play there on a single Saturday.) Managers are reminded that they can schedule additional games/make-up games at Lucchessi on their own. The field rents for $75/hr. Antonio is going to look into renting the Piner high school turf field simultaneously with Lucchessi so that we can play two games at each field on the first two Saturdays of the season. That way the games can be at 10:00 and 12:00 at each field, rather than having games at 10:00, 12:00, 2:00 and 4:00 at Lucchessi. Hector Roman said he knows the soccer coach at Piner and will talk to him. (We had trouble getting permission to use the field last year.) Luis Medina (game scheduler) said he would look into getting Wilson Ranch and Keiser fields in Windsor for first two weekends of the season. Games would be at 10:00 and 12:00. Luis will also book some Weds nights at Windsor for make-up games in case of rainouts. He can cancel these if we don’t end up needing them. New Business Registration money ($800/team) due at next meeting. Reg packets can also be turned it then, although they will not be ultimately due for a few weeks after that. (And players can be added/dropped throughout the season.) Registration packets: Managers must submit a registration form for each player (even if that player is a returning player). Forms are available in the “Download Page” section of the website (SCACSL.net). In addition, they must submit a copy of a driver’s license and a 1.5” x 1.5” photo of each new player. Returning players can just submit their old cards. Forestville Kixx will not field a team this season. It looks unlikely that Just for Fun will either. No one has heard from Salsa, but that is not unusual. Outsiders have not been to a meeting or contacted the league, but it is hoped they are returning. Are we going to try and get more teams? Antonio said that he is still looking to get some younger teams if there is a spot for them. A review/discussion of how much money to pay the ref coordinator, the registrar, and the webmaster was held. The following sums were voted on unanimously: Referee coordinator: $400 Registrar: $300 Webmaster: $450 How are we going to handle field marking this year? Last year we relied on volunteers. Will likely have to do the same this year. Looking for volunteers to step up. It was pointed out that Leo from Kixx still has the field marking equipment from last season. Sarah Martin to call and try to get back. Treasurer reminded people how team refunds work. At the beginning of the season, each manager gets back $100, minus $10 for each meeting missed in the previous season. (We might be able to increase the amount of the refund in 2008 if the account balance is high enough.) The first Sunday of next month is Superbowl Sunday, so the meeting will be moved to the following Sunday: Feb 11th. Meeting Adjourned at 7:40 p.m. Next scheduled meeting: Sunday Feb 11th at the Round Table Pizza on Marlow (at Guerneville Road, in the Safeway shopping center) at 6:30 p.m.
