Minutes of Meeting Jan 8th 2006 Call to Order President Antonio Rosales called the meeting to order at 6:35 p.m. at Round Table Pizza on Marlow Road. Teams Present Present: Black Oaks, Empire F.C., Forestville United, Habaneros, Maximum Force, Outer Limits, Outsiders, Salsa, Shockers, Sonoma United Approval of Minutes The December minutes were reviewed and approved. Reports of Officers and Committees Antonio Rosales, President: Explained that he was away for all of December, which is why he wasn’t able to respond to Treasurer’s calls. Would like his name added to the bank account (in addition to Treasurer and Secretary), so he will go to the bank and get the needed paperwork done. Brian Aicega, Vice President: Did some shopping on-line and found pricing for lining equipment and paint. About $36/case of paint. Lining machines about $60 a piece. Sue Zaharoff, Treasurer: League account has $2600 left over from last year. Concerned about covering costs this year given that we have fewer teams. (See more about money under new business.) Brian Peddinghaus, Ref Coordinator: Volunteered to forgo payment for the job. Could still use help in getting more refs. Has 5 or 6 now. Luis Medina, Webmaster: Has updated web site for this year. Added registration form that folks can print out. (Will remove request for social security number from form and add request for e-mail address.) Found a cheaper place to host site: $107/yr. His costs to maintain the site will be $450/yr. Luis Medina, Game Scheduler: First game is March 18th. Old Business The problem of securing good fields for the first two weeks of the season came up again. Brian Peddinghaus volunteered to look into renting the field at Lucchessi in Petaluma. Antonio to look into using Wiseman during that time. New Business In an effort to determine what reg fees should be, an attempt was made to rough out the league budget for the year. (Note: these numbers have been adjusted since the meeting): Team refunds from 2005 $ 700 Insurance $1000 Paint and lining equipment $ 500 Round Table $ 400 Refs (assuming 12 teams, 12 weeks) $2880 Lucchessi rental, 2 Saturdays $1000 Sunrise fees $400 Galvin fees $600 Forestville fees $200 Registrar $300 Web site $600 Phone $300 Total $8880
A motion was made to spend $1000 on the rental of Lucchessi. Motion was approved unanimously.
A motion was made to spend $500 for two field marking machines and paint. Motion was approved unanimously. (Assignments for marking fields will need to be made once the schedule is out. Each team will need to take turns marking the fields they are playing on. Details to be worked out later.) A motion was made to set the reg fees at $700/team. Motion was approved unanimously. With 12 teams, we will generate $8400 in reg fees. Adding in the $2600 we have left over from last year, we are at $11,000. Registration: Deadline is Feb 6th. Managers must submit a form for each player. In addition, they must submit a copy of a driver’s license and a 1.5” x 1.5” photo of each new player. Returning players can just submit their old cards. If you are unable to attend the Feb 5th meeting, please contact Dave directly: 838-7770 (H) and 543-3444 (fax). Since no one stepped up to be field coordinator, it was suggested that we break the job up on a field-by-field basis. The following people are “in charge” of the following fields. They will be responsible for getting field info to the webmaster (Luis Medina) and President (who records the field condition message on the hot line). Dave Wilson Galvin (1 and 2) Sue Zaharoff Forestville Antonio Rosales Sunrise, Wiseman (?) Brian Peddinghaus Lucchessi The issue of whether or not to invite younger teams into an open division in the league was discussed again. It was decided that we will see how many young teams try to register, and if there are enough teams, we will create an open league. (Teams in the A division would play in the open division as well.) For now, A division teams encouraged to recruit players that fall within the age limits set out by the league currently. The Investor’s Trust Tourney was set for May 6th, 2006. Games will be played at SSU fields. (Antonio is coordinating with SSU.) If we get 16 teams, we may do two levels. Reg fee will be $120/team. League has reserved the room for the whole year at Round Table. Meetings are always the first Sunday of each month (unless there’s a holiday, then the second Sunday). We need to spend about $50/meeting on food and beverages. Meeting Adjourned at 7:50 p.m. Next scheduled meeting: Sunday Feb 12th at the Round Table Pizza on Marlow (at Guerneville Road, in the Safeway shopping center) at 6:30 p.m. Submitted by Sarah Martin 17 Jan 2006
